Dan Shipp's legal practice includes all aspects of alcohol/drug driving offenses including:

Dan's office is an old log barn, circa 1880's, and is 30 yards from a wonderful mountain stream (East Sopris Creek). It is located on his home ranch three miles from Basalt, Colorado, where he raised his two boys with his wife Carolyn. The "Law Barn" is one of many log structures on the secluded ranch, located one (1) mile up Sopris Creek from Highway 82. When you visit you will see a restored log village. The "Law Barn" will not look like a traditionally cold law office. The outside is covered with old wagon wheels, scales, traps, etc. The inside has vintage bearskin rugs, Winchester rifles, coyote skins, head mounts, and antique tools.  

The refinished black and nickel pot-bellied stove in Dan's office is as useful as it is attractive. According to Dan, "when it's cold outside, we'll have a warm fireside chat." With his gentlemanly down-home Southern style, he'll make you feel right at home. He'll let you tell him about your problems and will instill a calming confidence that your case will be handled professionally and personally. Dan Shipp says, "a lot of our clients have a tremendous amount of pent-up emotions. I've got big comfortable wing chairs. We take the time necessary to talk about what's going on in their lives and what I can do to be of service to them." He makes people feel comfortable and let's them be themselves. When you see Dan outside his office, he'll be wearing his trademark white cowboy hat, along with his coat and bowtie. He says that his mother once told him, "Son, you don't get but one chance to make a first impression, be sure it's a good one!" 

Dan has practiced in Colorado since 1983 and for nine years prior to that in Yazoo City, Mississippi. He handled high-end personal injury cases for many years, getting the largest personal injury verdict in Colorado in 1992 in the Crested Butte Bank explosion cases, before changing the focus of his practice 10 years ago to DUI defense. 

As a member of the National College for DUI Defense, he is recognized as being one of the most highly qualified DUI defense attorneys in the country. He has a "Master Trial Advocate" certification from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA), at Notre Dame Law School, and has been recognized as Who's Who in American Law by the Marquis Who's Who Publication Board for the past 20 years.
